1. Who We Are

BillScan AI is a GST invoice extraction service built for Indian CA firms and businesses. Contact: support.billscan@gmail.com

2. What We Collect

• Google account data — your name, email address, and profile picture, collected when you sign in via Google OAuth. Used solely to identify your account.
• IP address — logged transiently to enforce the free-tier quota (2 extractions per IP). Not linked to personal identity and not shared.
• Subscription and usage data — your plan type (free/starter/pro) and monthly extraction count, stored securely in our database.
• Payment data — handled entirely by Razorpay. We never receive, see, or store your card or bank details.

3. What We Do NOT Collect

• Your invoice files — every document is processed in RAM and immediately discarded. Nothing is written to disk or logged.
• The content of your invoices (vendor names, amounts, GSTINs) — never stored, never transmitted beyond the AI extraction step.
• Your invoices are never used to train any AI model.

4. How We Use Your Data

• To authenticate you and keep you signed in (30-day session token stored in your browser)
• To track extraction quotas and enforce plan limits
• To manage your subscription and process refund requests
• To send transactional emails (subscription confirmation, renewal) via Razorpay

5. Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party service providers for authentication, payment processing, AI extraction, and infrastructure hosting. These providers are contractually bound to handle your data securely and only for the purposes we specify. Your payment details are handled entirely by our payment processor — we never store card or bank information. Invoice content shared with AI providers for extraction is not retained or used for training purposes.

6. Data Retention

• Account data (Google ID, email, plan): retained while your account is active
• Anonymous IP usage data: automatically purged after 30 days
• Invoice content: zero retention — never persisted

7. Your Rights (DPDP Act 2023)

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data. To exercise these rights, email support.billscan@gmail.com. We will respond within 72 hours.

8. Cookies

We use one session cookie during Google sign-in (cleared after authentication completes). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By accessing or using BillScan AI ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Service Description

BillScan AI uses artificial intelligence to extract structured data from GST invoices (PDF, JPG, PNG, WebP). The Service is provided for informational and productivity purposes. Always verify extracted data before using it for accounting, tax filing, or compliance purposes. We do not guarantee 100% extraction accuracy.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age and acting in a professional or business capacity to create a paid account. The free tier is available to all users.

4. Free Tier

The free tier allows 2 invoice extractions per IP address, one-time only. Circumventing this limit through VPNs, proxies, or multiple IPs is a violation of these Terms and may result in access termination.

5. Paid Plans

• Basic — ₹999/month: 150 invoice extractions per calendar month
• Starter — ₹2,999/month: 500 invoice extractions per calendar month
• Professional — ₹6,999/month: 2,000 invoice extractions per calendar month
• Unused extractions do not roll over to the next month
• Subscriptions renew automatically. You may cancel at any time from your account dashboard
• Prices are inclusive of applicable taxes

6. Refund Policy

First-time subscribers may request a full refund within 7 days of their initial payment by emailing support.billscan@gmail.com with your registered email and order details. Refunds are processed within 5–7 business days. Subsequent renewals are non-refundable.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Process invoices or documents you do not have lawful rights to access
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or replicate our AI extraction pipeline
• Resell, sublicense, or white-label the Service without prior written permission
• Upload malicious files or attempt to compromise our infrastructure
• Use automated tools to circumvent quota limits

8. Intellectual Property

All software, UI design, branding, and extraction logic are the intellectual property of BillScan AI. The structured data extracted from your invoices belongs to you.

9. Availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We are not liable for downtime caused by our AI providers (Google, Anthropic), hosting platforms, or third-party services.

10. Limitation of Liability

BillScan AI is not liable for errors in extracted data or any losses arising from reliance on extracted values. Our maximum aggregate liability to you for any claim is limited to the total fees you paid in the 30 days preceding the claim.

11. Modifications

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be communicated via email to registered users.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in India.
